Cheikh Ahmadou Bamba GUEYE was born in Dakar, Sénégal. He received his Master in Computer Science from the Université Cheikh Anta Diop de Dakar (Senegal), and Master's degree in Networking from University Pierre et Marie Curie - Sorbonne Université in 2003. In december 2006, he received the Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from the University Pierre et Marie Curie - Sorbonne Universités, Paris, France.
Between 2007 and 2010, he was Research Assistant (PostDoc position) at the Université de Liège (Belgium), Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Department. He was a Visiting Scientist at UQÀM (Montréal, Canada) during the 2011/12 academic year. He was general chair of IEEE MNE3SD conference, EAI fellows from class 2021, and involved in several TCP journals and conferences. He is currently an external member of the accreditation agencies of CAMES and ANAQ-Sup.

His research interests are in Internet measurements, focusing on geographically locating Internet hosts from its IP address, measurement-based geolocation, Wireless Sensors Networks (WSN), and green cloud computing and network virtualization, with recent focus on improving sustainability concept in underserved areas and sustainable communication networks. His studies spotlight bringing network convergence to connect the unconnected rural and underserved areas for equity and inclusion in online education and Internet access.
Besides, he works on holistic approach that addresses opportunistic delay-tolerant networks, Internet of Things, and device-to-device communication for an efficient information delivery within white spot areas.
In WSN, he promotes Sensor-based epidemiology detection and air pollution monitoring. Indeed, data collected by sensors deployed in interest points can be used in order to develop more-sensitive disease-prediction and control-model. He has mighty experience in projects related to deployment of fixed and mobile monitoring systems which allows real-time visualization of the water quality level related to malaria control based on physio-chemical parameters of anopheles breeding sites as well as the prediction of water points quality indicators for Schistosomiasis prevention.
Furthermore, has strong experience in projects related to deployment of fixed and mobile monitoring systems which allows real-time visualization of the level of pollution. Also, improving quality life in rural area has been taking a major role in our research such as pastoral mobility, livestock transhumance in Sahel, resources management by using Internet of things.

He was the head of Computer Science Laboratory (2014-2021), the head of computer science department (2020-2024), and the president of ASCII organization (2015-2024). He is currently full professor with Université Cheikh Anta Diop and the head of Senegalese National Baccalaureate Office. He received the grade of Full Professor and Associated Professor issued by the CAMES respectively in 2020 and 2011.
